Job Summary

Hemisphere Media Group, Inc. seeks a Senior Finance & Accounting Analyst who will be responsible for, but not limited to, revenue forecast, invoice billings, cash applications, reconciliation of deferred revenue and bank statements and updating the Cable Network budget files. This position will support the Accounting and Finance operations for the Cable Networks department reporting to the Accounting & Finance Sr. Manager.

What you will do

  • The preparation of revenues annual budget and quarterly forecast updates for all U.S. Cable Network entities
  • Prepare journal entries to record Affiliate revenues, Ad Sales and Licensing revenues on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible for obtaining, monitoring and tracking of monthly subscriber reports from distributors.
  • Manage customer contract functions such as tracking and monitoring expiration dates and annual rate increases, as well as prepare contract termination summaries for management.
  • Posting customer payments and reconciling the accounts receivable ledger
  • Researching discrepancies and reviewing customer accounts, including assisting management with the resolution of billing discrepancies.
  • Preparing Ad-Hoc reports and analysis for management
  • Assisting with accounting month-end and quarter close (preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis)
  • Assist with Deferred Revenue reconciliations, monthly accrual schedules, bad debt roll forward, among other tasks.
  • Assist in ensuring the accuracy of consolidated financial statements for the Cable Networks Department

Requirements to be Successful

  • Bachelor’s degree required with a focus in Accounting or Finance, or related area preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in similar roles
  • Bilingual in English & Spanish (must speak Spanish fluently)
  • Extensive proficiency in Excel required, experience with Wide Orbit, GP, and Management Reporter preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills, able to synthesize data and provide insightful solutions and implement best practices.
  • Ability to quickly reassess priorities, think ahead, and adapt, as required.
  • Excellent time management skills and deadline oriented; ability to work in a fast paced, changing environment.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational, teamwork, problem solving and communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to create and maintain positive and effective working relationships.
